Ex-Oyo PDP Secretary Dies At 62

The former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State Taofeek Olayiwola is dead.

Olayiwola, 62, the former caretaker chairman of Ona Ara Local Government Area of the state, was said to have collapsed at an event and rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, where he later gave up the ghost, on Wednesday.

The deceased, who was the associate of the late garrison commander of Ibadan politics, Chief Lamidi Adedibu, was also the state party secretary during the tenure of late former governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala.

He had since been buried, according to Islamic right.

Meanwhile, the state PDP Public Relations Officer, Akeem Olatunji, has described the late Olayiwola as an easy going person and a great politician who believed in live and let’s live.

“He will be missed by all. He was a great man with the fear of God. He was so passionate about the welfare of the people, irrespective of tribe or religious affiliation.”
