• Dandaura hails CG Audi for towering leadership, warns criminals to desist
The NSCDC Commandant-General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’s SIS) operatives acting on Intelligence at about 1155Hrs of 29th November 2022 at Jahi 1 area of Abuja Municipal Area Council, FCT discovered, raided and seald up an illegal Petroleum product dump site that specializes in halting and illigal storage of suspected vandalised, and Adulterated Petroleum products.
NAOSNP gathered from DC Apollos Dandaura that the CG’s SIS operatives discovered, raided and seald up the Jahi dumpsite that specializes in illegal storage of suspected vandalised, and adulteration of petroleum products, most especially AGO before reload it into long, peddler trucks and other types of vehicles and objects. This is for sale to the general public within FCT and its environs thereby causing untold hardship to the public and sabotaging Government’s efforts in ensuring the free flow of petroleum products in FCT and its environs.
The two dumpsites where over 130,000 litres of adulterated and illegally refined AGO was stored is owned by two individuals. The sites are located in Jahi 1 and Katampe area of AMAC, Abuja FCT. National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP gathered that the Special Intelligence Squad confiscated the two dumpsites at about 1000hrs to 1350hrs of 29th November 2022.
Therefore, the Squad after arrested suspects namely: Chigozie Omeifeukwu, 42 yrs, Idemmri LGA, Anambra state who is the dump manager and Sunday Akpokoye, 35 yrs old, Esan LGA , Edo state who is a driver.
‘Exhibits confiscated are namely: Eight (8) surface tanks containing 42,900 litres of AGO; 8,000 litres of AGO; and 1,000 litres of AGO respectively. Fourteen (14) calibrated rubbers containing 300 litres of AGO and 1,000 litres of AGO respectively; Eight No.8 Tanks 11- 1No.Toyota hilux (tacoma) carton colour no number but empty; 3No. Pumping machines; 1No.white big MIKANO generator; 2No. Generators.’
The Squad also raided and sealed up another illegal dumpyard located at Katampe Area in Abuja Municipal Area Council of the FCT at about 1000hrs of 29th November 2022. They arrested six (6) suspects namely: ‘Mohammed Tukur, 33 yrs, Fulani, Ganye LGA , Adamawa state, a staff; Godwin Chukwu, 50 yrs, Igbo, Ivo LGA, Ebonyi state, a staff; Suleiman Mohammed, 22 yrs, Igala Ankpa LGA, Kogi state, a motorboy; Bashir Yahaya, 22yrs, Igala, Ankpa LGA, Kogi state, a staff; Amedu Moses, 47 yrs, Igbo, Eze North LGA, Enugu state, a staff; and Uche Amedu, 18 yrs, Igbo, Eze north LGA, Enugu state. The said Suspect were arrested on the act while working at the illegal petroleum product dump site’, Dandaura told NAOSNP.
‘Exhibits were recovered. They are namely 5NO. empty short truck; 10No. surface tanks all empty; Eight (8) containers one use as office; 2Nos. pumping machines; 5Nos. Drums; 26Nos. empty kegs; 2 containers locked and keyed but suspected to have some products and other dump working tools; 1Nos. container with 5Nos. kegs of 25 litres of AGO; 9No. empty drums; 23Nos. Calibrated rubbers, 2 containing 1500 litre of AGO in each and 1 with 75 litres of AGO; 55Nos. Empty Drums; 12Nos. Drums 12 with AGO; 68Nos. Empty kegs; 11Nos kegs containing condemned engine oils; 1Nos. Keg with PMS; 1Nos. with AGO inside; and.1Nos.white van Reg no. ABC 845 ZV.’
Two illegal dumpsites and all the recovered exhibits therein have been handed over to the State Commandant, NSCDC, FCT Command by the Head of NSCDC CG’s SIS, DC Apollos Dandaura. This is for the sake of proper and further investigation, parading and prosecution, NAOSNP can report.
The Head of NSCDC CG’s SIS DC Apollos Dandaura praised the Commandant-General of NSCDC, CG Abubakar Ahmed Audi for his towering leadership of the security agency with the mandate to protect national asset. He pledged to continue the good work and warned people involved in such nefarious activities to desist because the Squad will catch up with them, NAOSNP can report.
It is noteworthy that the Head, Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’s SIS), DC Apollos Dandaura, JP was recognized and honoured for the hard work as the Most Outstanding NSCDC Anti-vandal Officer of the Year 2022 by the National CrimeWatch Award.
