Pheelz, a popular Nigerian producer and singer born Philip Kayode and known by his stage name, has spoken about how the church fueled his music career.The ‘Electricity’ singer revealed this during an interview with the BBC Focus on Africa podcast.The 27-year-old, who began his transition into a musician with the release of his debut EP ‘Hear Me Out,’ said he decided to become a musician at the age of five after seeing a church choir perform.Church Choir Performance Fuelled My DecisionI have always seen myself on stage, that’s the one thing I was sure about from 5. Because I got my first introduction into music when I was five and that was my first encounter in church,” he said.You know churches in Nigeria, we have the children church and we have the adult church.
