Tiwa Savage’s ex-husband and Showbiz promoter Teebillz, has thrown his weight behind singer D’banj following his detention and release by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Eniretvnews on Wednesday reported that D’banj was detained by the ICPC for allegedly collaborating with some government officials to introduce ghost beneficiaries into the payroll of the N-Power scheme in order to divert funds.
The singer however regained his freedom on Friday afternoon, December 9, according to his attorney, Pelumi Olajengbesi.
Showing support for the singer, Teebillz shared D’banj’s photo on Instagram on Friday, saying he is one of the pioneers of Afrobeat. He wrote:
Bonafide hustler! He’s the reason we all believed in Afrobeats and he solidified it internationally for THE WORLD to pay attention!! the reason everyone is benefiting from it today.
